Background & Origin

Krieg built the largest pirate fleet in the East Blue, commanding fifty ships and thousands of men, and earned a fearsome reputation across the sea.

Proud and ambitious, he led his entire armada into the Grand Line — only to be utterly destroyed there by a single swordsman, the great Dracule Mihawk.

Story & Growth

Krieg crawled back to the East Blue with the shattered remnant of his fleet, starving and desperate, and was given food at the sea-restaurant Baratie.

He repaid that kindness by attacking the restaurant to seize it. There he was confronted by Luffy, who defeated him and ended the would-be conqueror's reign over the East Blue.
