Background & Origin

Buggy began his career as a cabin boy aboard the ship of the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, serving on the legendary crew alongside a young Shanks.

After Roger's era ended, Buggy struck out with a modest crew of his own — a flashy, scheming clown-pirate with grand ambitions but a habit of being outmatched by far stronger foes.

Story & Growth

For years Buggy bumbled through the New World, repeatedly mistaken for a far greater pirate than he was — and each misunderstanding only inflated his fearsome reputation.

When the Warlord system was abolished, he co-founded the bounty-hunting organisation Cross Guild with Crocodile and Mihawk, and to his own astonishment was named its figurehead — vaulting Buggy into the ranks of the Four Emperors.

Abilities & Powers

Buggy ate the Bara Bara no Mi, a Paramecia Devil Fruit that lets him split his body into separate floating pieces, making him completely immune to slashing and piercing attacks.

He can send his parts flying to attack from a distance and fights with knives and circus-themed tricks. His true 'power', however, may simply be a supernatural amount of luck.
