Background & Origin
Wapol ruled the winter island of Drum Kingdom as a cruel and selfish king, hoarding the island's renowned doctors for himself while neglecting his suffering subjects.
When the Emperor Blackbeard's crew attacked Drum, the cowardly Wapol simply fled, abandoning his entire kingdom to save his own skin.
Story & Growth
Wapol returned to reclaim Drum, only to be driven off for good by the Straw Hat Pirates, who had come to the island and recruited the young doctor Chopper.
Cast out and penniless, Wapol used his strange Devil Fruit to turn scrap into goods — and, improbably, built a manufacturing fortune, becoming a wealthy businessman far from the throne he had lost.
Abilities & Powers
Wapol ate the Baku Baku no Mi, a Paramecia Devil Fruit that lets him eat literally anything — metal, stone, cannonballs — with an enormous mouth.
He can then fuse whatever he has eaten inside his body and spit out new combined creations, turning his appetite into both a weapon and, eventually, an industry.
