Background & Origin
Crocodile rose to become one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, using the respectable title as a mask for his true ambitions.
In secret he founded and led Baroque Works, a vast criminal organisation of code-named agents — none of whom knew that their work served his single goal: to conquer a kingdom and seize an ancient weapon.
Story & Growth
Crocodile's plan was to topple the desert kingdom of Alabasta through a manufactured civil war. The scheme was undone when the Straw Hat Pirates intervened, and Luffy defeated him in their third and final clash.
Stripped of his Warlord title and imprisoned, Crocodile later escaped during the Impel Down breakout, and in time helped found a new bounty-hunting power, the Cross Guild.
Abilities & Powers
Crocodile ate the Suna Suna no Mi, a Logia-type Devil Fruit that lets him create, control and become sand. He can raise devastating sandstorms, drain the moisture from anything he touches, and turn the desert itself into a weapon.
