Background & Origin

Aokiji served for years as one of the Marines' three admirals. Though loyal to justice, he held to a gentler, 'Lazy Justice' — willing to bend the rules and look the other way when cruelty served no purpose.

It was Aokiji who chose to spare Nico Robin as a child during the destruction of Ohara, an act of mercy that quietly defined him.

Story & Growth

After the Marineford war, Aokiji and Akainu fought a ten-day duel to decide who would become the next Fleet Admiral. Aokiji lost.

Unwilling to serve under a man whose ruthlessness he could not stomach, Kuzan resigned from the Marines and vanished — later resurfacing in unexpected and troubling company among pirates.

Abilities & Powers

Kuzan ate the Hie Hie no Mi, a Logia-type Devil Fruit that lets him create, control and become ice. He can freeze the sea solid, encase enemies in an instant, and walk across frozen oceans.

A veteran Haki user, he remains one of the strongest fighters ever to hold the rank of admiral.
