Background & Origin

Kaku served in CP9, the World Government's covert assassination unit, alongside its strongest member, Rob Lucci.

For years he lived undercover in Water 7, posing as a respected shipwright and ship-inspector of the Galley-La Company while secretly gathering intelligence for the Government.

Story & Growth

When CP9's mission came to a head at Enies Lobby, Kaku revealed his true allegiance and fought the Straw Hats' swordsman, Roronoa Zoro, in a fierce duel that ended in his defeat.

Like Lucci, Kaku recovered from that failure and was eventually promoted into CP0, the most secretive and elite of all the Cipher Pol agencies.

Abilities & Powers

Kaku ate the Ushi Ushi no Mi, Model: Giraffe, a Zoan Devil Fruit that lets him transform into a giraffe or a long-limbed human-giraffe hybrid.

He combines this with a mastery of Rokushiki, the World Government's superhuman martial art, putting his swordsmanship and speed among the deadliest in the agency.
