Background & Origin

Smoker built his reputation as a Marine in Loguetown, the town where the Pirate King was born and executed. There he stood guard, capturing pirate after pirate and earning the nickname the 'White Hunter'.

It was in Loguetown that he first encountered Monkey D. Luffy — and from that day, his path and Luffy's have crossed again and again.

Story & Growth

Smoker's brand of justice is his own. Though a loyal Marine, he cares more for protecting ordinary people than for the World Government's politics, and he has openly defied corrupt superiors when their orders turned cruel.

He pursued Luffy through Alabasta and beyond, and was later transferred to the New World, where the dangers — and his determination — only grew.

Abilities & Powers

Smoker ate the Moku Moku no Mi, a Logia-type Devil Fruit that lets him create, control and become smoke. He can wrap and pin down enemies, ride plumes of smoke through the air, and slip free of most physical attacks.

He carries a jitte tipped with sea-prism stone — a weapon capable of striking and weakening other Devil Fruit users.
