Background & Origin

Robin was born on Ohara, an island in the West Blue famed for its great library and its scholars. Following her mother, the archaeologist Nico Olvia, she became an archaeologist at just eight years old and secretly learned to decipher the Poneglyphs — ancient stones the World Government forbids anyone to read.

When the Government discovered Ohara's research, it destroyed the entire island with a Buster Call, killing nearly everyone. Robin survived, and from the age of eight carried a bounty as the 'Devil Child', hunted across the world and forced to betray ally after ally simply to stay alive.

Story & Growth

By the time she met the Straw Hats, Robin had spent twenty years trusting no one — first appearing as Crocodile's right hand in the Baroque Works organisation. After Crocodile's fall she invited herself aboard Luffy's ship, still certain she would one day be abandoned.

That certainty broke at Enies Lobby. When the World Government cornered her, the Straw Hats declared war on the world itself to take her back — and Robin, for the first time, asked aloud to live. She has been a devoted member of the crew ever since.

Abilities & Powers

Robin ate the Hana Hana no Mi, which lets her bloom copies of her body parts from any surface — arms to restrain enemies, eyes and ears to spy, and after the timeskip entire duplicate bodies large enough to fight giants.

Her greatest value, however, is her mind: she is the only living person able to read the Poneglyphs, the scattered stones that record the world's lost history.
