Background & Origin

Marco served as the right-hand man of the Emperor Whitebeard, commanding the first of the crew's sixteen divisions. He was the steady, level-headed core of a crew Whitebeard treated as his family.

Long before the present he ate a rare Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit, gaining the power of the legendary phoenix.

Story & Growth

Marco fought at the front of the Marineford war, struggling to protect Ace and his ailing captain. When the battle ended in the loss of both Whitebeard and Ace, the crew was eventually scattered and defeated.

Marco returned to Whitebeard's home, Sphinx Island, where he worked quietly as the village doctor and guardian. He stepped back into the fight at Wano, joining the alliance against the Beasts and Big Mom Pirates.

Abilities & Powers

Marco ate the Tori Tori no Mi, Model: Phoenix, a Mythical Zoan that lets him become a phoenix wreathed in blue 'flames of resurrection'. These flames are not destructive but regenerative — they swiftly heal his own wounds and can mend his allies.
