Franky

Born Cutty Flam in the South Blue, Franky was abandoned by his pirate parents and left adrift as a child. He was taken in by Tom, the master shipwright who had built the Pirate King's ship, and raised as his apprentice in the shipbuilding city of Water 7.

When Government agents came for Tom's blueprints of the ancient warship Pluton, the young Franky was run over by a sea train trying to stop them. Refusing to die, he salvaged scrap metal and rebuilt his own broken body into a cyborg — and stayed in Water 7 for years afterward, guarding Pluton's plans.

Franky met the Straw Hats during the Water 7 and Enies Lobby conflict, fighting beside them against the World Government. Won over by the crew, he built them a new ship from a legendary treasure wood — the Thousand Sunny — and joined them so he could watch his own creation cross every sea.

During the timeskip he upgraded his cyborg body still further, returning as one of the crew's heaviest hitters as well as its craftsman.

Franky's cyborg body is packed with built-in weapons — cannons, rocket launchers, extending arms and flame projectors — all fuelled by cola stored in a compartment in his belly. When his cola runs low, so does his strength.

More than a fighter, he is a genius shipwright and engineer, able to design and build ships, vehicles and machines that few others in the world could match.
