Background & Origin
Shirahoshi is the youngest child and only daughter of King Neptune, ruler of the Ryugu Kingdom beneath the sea.
For most of her life she was kept hidden inside a tower, sheltered from the obsessive pirate Vander Decken IX, who had sworn to kill her — leaving the timid princess to grow up lonely and fearful.
Story & Growth
Shirahoshi's quiet life changed when the Straw Hats came to Fish-Man Island. With their help she faced her fears, mourned her murdered mother, and stepped out of her tower for the first time.
It was then revealed that she is the current incarnation of Poseidon, one of the three Ancient Weapons — a being able to command the colossal Sea Kings, and a figure central to the fate of the world.

Shirahoshi has no fighting skill at all — she is a gentle, fearful soul who would never raise a hand against anyone.
