Background & Origin
Cobra was the king of Alabasta, a member of the Nefertari family — one of the twenty royal lines that founded the World Government, but the only one that chose to remain among its people rather than ascend as Celestial Dragons.
He ruled Alabasta with deep compassion, loved by his subjects as a kind and devoted king.
Story & Growth
Cobra's reign was nearly destroyed by the schemes of Crocodile, whose Baroque Works organisation engineered a civil war to overthrow him.
With the help of his daughter Vivi and the Straw Hat Pirates, the plot was exposed and Alabasta was saved. Cobra continued to rule with the same gentleness — a king who valued his people far above his own crown.
