Background & Origin

Katakuri is the eldest of a set of triplets among Big Mom's many children, and serves as both a Sweet Commander — one of the crew's top three officers — and the minister of flour in Totto Land.

Mocked as a child for his sharp, monstrous mouth, he grew up determined never to show weakness, hiding the lower half of his face behind a scarf and building a reputation that seemed utterly without flaw.

Story & Growth

For years Katakuri maintained a perfect record: an undefeated fighter who, his crew believed, had never once been knocked off his feet or shown his back to an enemy.

That record met its end at Whole Cake Island, in a long and brutal duel with Luffy. Defeated at last by an opponent he came to respect, Katakuri chose to lower his scarf and reveal his true face — finally setting down the burden of a flawless image.

Abilities & Powers

Katakuri ate the Mochi Mochi no Mi, an unusual 'Special Paramecia' that behaves much like a Logia — letting him create, control and transform into sticky mochi.

His most dangerous gift is an extraordinarily advanced Observation Haki, refined to the point that he can see several moments into the future, reading an opponent's moves before they are made.
